POOL RULES AND REGULATIONS

We welcome you to the Glenwood family and wish you a long and happy stay. The rules listed are to provide maximum safety
and enjoyment for all.

Definitions
1. “Adult” means any person over the age of 18.
2. “Minor Child(ren) or Child(ren)” means any person under the age of 18.
3. “Resident” means any owner or tenant actually residing in the community on a non-temporary basis.
4. “Child-Resident” means a minor child who is deemed a resident of the community.
5. “Parent-Resident” means any adult who is deemed a resident of the community whose minor child also resides in the adult’s
home.
6. “Guest” means any adult or minor child who is a friend/visitor of a resident.
GENERAL RULES
1. ALL RESIDENTS/GUESTS USE THE POOL AT THEIR OWN RISK. THE GLENWOOD COMMUNITY
ASSOCIATION (GCA) ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ACCIDENT/INJURY, LOSS OR DAMAGE TO
PERSONAL PROPERTY.
2. The cost to repair deliberate damage to association property by residents or guests shall be charged to the responsible
homeowners. Residents/guests are to respect the rights of others at all times.
3. Pool facilities are under direct supervision of the Pool Manager/staff (lifeguards) who have been directed by the Board of
Directors to strictly enforce the rules and regulations. Failure to respect the listed rules shall result in ejection and/or forfeiture
of all pool privileges. In the case of a youth, a call may be made to the parent or guardian.
a. Duty lifeguards are authorized to eject any person from pool usage for violations of established rules/regulations of the
GCA. This ejection shall take place at the time of the infraction and one day thereafter.**
b. The Pool Manager is authorized to revoke pool privileges for up to 7 days.**
c. The Board of Directors may revoke pool privileges for up to 60 days. A meeting shall be scheduled between the Pool
Manager (or Association Manager), Board of Directors, and the accused in order to resolve the problem fairly.
**Residents are expected to abide by the decision, however, the resident has the right to appeal, in writing, any decision to the
Board of Directors.
4. All assessments must be paid and a photo ID must be obtained via CellBadge registration prior to any use of the association
pool. Should a legitimate problem arise, the Association Manager and Board members are authorized to issue a temporary
pass to new members and those paid to date, but having administrative delays. The pass shall be good until the date noted on
the pass. The temporary pass may only be renewed one time per household at no charge. There will be a $10 charge for each
subsequent renewal.
5. Residents/guests are requested to park in an orderly fashion. No parking is allowed in the reserved spaces. Spaces designated
for office use are not to be used for pool parking. Bike riders must use the bike racks, with all bikes being locked with the bike
owner’s lock.
POOL ADMISSIONS
1. RESIDENTS NOT IN GOOD STANDING WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ENTER THE POOL. This rule will be
strictly enforced by the pool staff, however the staff will not have any information regarding the accounts.
2. ALL RESIDENTS MUST HAVE A REGISTERED POOL PASS TO ENTER THE POOL AREA.
3. Admission and Supervision Requirements of Minor Children:
a. Any child-resident between 12 and 18 years old:
i) May enter the pool without adult supervision
ii) May bring a minor child guest between 12 and 18 years old without adult supervision
ii) May NOT bring a guest under the age of 12 years old without a parent-resident present
b. Any child-resident under the age of 12 years old
i) MUST be accompanied by an adult
ii) May NOT bring guests under the age of 12 years old without a parent-resident present
c. For every five (5) minor children (whether a guest or child-resident), between 5 and 12 years old, there must be at least one
(1) adult present
d. For every three (3) minor children under the age of 5 (whether a guest or a child-resident), there must be at least one (1)
adult present
GUESTS
1. Residents are required to ensure that your guests are fully advised of our rules/regulations. The resident shall bear all
responsibility for the guest and their conduct. The resident MUST remain checked in with the guest at all times while within
the pool area.
The fee for all guests is $2.00 per guest. Each residence is limited to a maximum of 5 guests per day, and guests will only
be allowed with a prepaid guest pass on their account - payable by cash only, in the office M - F 9am - 5pm. Guest passes
are not transferable.
POOL OPERATIONS
1. POOL WILL BE USED ONLY WHEN CERTIFIED LIFEGUARDS ARE ON DUTY. GCA POOL USE IS LIMITED TO
RESIDENTS/GUESTS ONLY.
2. Pool must be cleared in emergencies. The signal for this action will be three (3) SHORT BLASTS of the lifeguard’s whistle.
3. Pool Manager/staff is authorized to close the pool for maintenance, health reasons, or adverse weather (lightning, thunder,
rain, etc.) The pool will be cleared for one half hour each time thunder is heard, and the entire pool area will be closed for one
half hour each time lightning is seen.
HEALTH REGULATIONS
1. No one will be allowed to use the pool with the following:
a. Gaping wounds/oozing skin
b. Obvious skin disorder or infection
c. Nasal or ear discharge
d. Conjunctivitis (pink eye)
e. Contagious, infectious or communicable disease such as a virus, cold, mumps, chicken pox, impetigo, etc.
2. Residents are urged to watch their health carefully during the swim season. Lifeguards are instructed to bar anyone whose
physical condition is not in the best interest of the Association. A doctor’s certification may be required for admission or
readmission to the pool.
3.Any person with a life-threatening condition or other physical disability who utilizes the pool facilities does so at his or her
own risk. The Association and its agents will not be held responsible for injuries that occur as a result of said condition or
disability.
4. Everyone shall refrain from spitting, spouting water, blowing nose, urinating or defecating in the pool or on the pool decks.
5. All Children, Who Are Not Toilet Trained, must Wear Secure Rubber/plastic Pants with Elastic Legs, Even on Top of
Disposable Diapers, in Both Pools. “Little Swimmers” Will Be Allowed in Place of Rubber Pants. Lifeguards Are Instructed to
Inspect for Secureness of Pants Due to Public Health Regulations.
6. Bring Disposable Diapers In-take Used Diapers Home. Due to Unsanitary Conditions, Please Do Not Put Diapers in the
Trash.
7. All injuries, no matter how minor, must be reported to the Lifeguards IMMEDIATELY.
8. The above rule does NOT imply that the association or lifeguards assume responsibility for the health or well being of
members or their guests.
POOL RULES
1. Showers are required by all entering the pool.
2. Loitering is not permitted (for no obvious reason without a pool pass or resident present).
3. Children under the age of 12 may be accompanied by a sibling/adult at least 18 years of age, provided the child is kept under
their care at all times while at the pool. Infractions will result in the revocation of this privilege.
4. No glass or any breakable objects are permitted in the pool enclosure. Food brought or bought must be confined to designated
eating areas at the picnic tables, and all trash must be disposed of properly.
5. No pets of any kind are allowed in the pool area.
6. No alcoholic beverages of any kind are allowed in the pool during normal pool hours. Illegal substances are strictly prohibited
at all times. Violators face immediate expulsion from the pool area and action by local authorities.
7. Only proper swim attire will be allowed in the pool. Thong bathing suits will not be allowed in the pool area. T-shirts are
allowed to be worn in the pool only when conditions warrant (sunburn, sensitive skin, etc.).
8. No running, dunking, diving, or rough play will be tolerated in or around the pool.
9. NO GUM CHEWING PERMITTED.
10. No profane, abusive, vulgar, excessively loud language or gestures, nor breach of peace will be tolerated. Violation will
result in immediate expulsion from the pool area.
11. Freed toys or flotation devices, (rafts, kickboards, etc.) will not be allowed in either pool. Soft, spongy type balls and diving
sticks will be allowed at lifeguard discretion. Noodles and sling mesh noodle seats will be allowed at lifeguard discretion.
Flotation rings with seat inserts will be allowed for children 2 years and under, with direct adult supervision and accompaniment
in the pool. Only Coast Guard approved flotation devices will be permitted for children, and only under direct supervision
and accompaniment in the pool by an adult. ADULT SUPERVISION MEANS THE CHILD MUST BE WITHIN ARMS
LENGTH. Mermaid fins are not allowed.
12. All trash must be placed in the trash receptacles provided.
13. SMOKING IS NOT PERMITTED INSIDE OF THE FENCED AREA. SMOKING IS PERMITTED OUTSIDE OF THE
GATE-ALL ASHES AND BUTTS MUST BE PLACED IN THE “SMOKER’S STATION” PROVIDED. This will include ecigarettes
and vapor cigarettes.
14. Patrons are not permitted to use personsal music devices, unless used with headphones.
15. Once every 2 hours, there will be a 15 minute lap swim period. Patrons must move continuously lengthwise and not
from side to side.
16. No furniture or any other item shall be placed or thrown in the pool.
17. No fins/snorkels are allowed in the pool.
18. There will be no sitting on the pool steps.
NOTES
1. Information contained herein is subject to change. Changes to any rule/regulation will be posted in a prominent place in the
pool enclosure and will be listed in the next issue of the Caddy.
2. Any violation, infraction, or problems should be reported to the POOL MANAGER, ASSOCIATION MANAGER, or the
BOARD OF DIRECTORS for resolution.
3. The pool will close at 6:30 PM on the evenings of parties. During Family Swim, the pool remains open to families with an
adult in attendance.
