Glenwood is an award winning community located in the Centerville area of Virginia Beach. Founded in 1986, the Association has a beautiful community pool and clubhouse, with exclusive use for homeowners, along with three playground areas, and approximately 40 acres of common area. With Honeybee Golf Course winding through parts of the community, and four lakes in other sections, many homes enjoy scenic views. 

In addition to our single family homes, we also have the Glenwood Greens townhomes, along with Woodbridge at Glenwood and Villas of Glenwood Condominiums as part of our community.

Board of Directors: The operation of your homeowners association is governed by a board of volunteer directors. The Board of Directors is elected by the community to oversee the daily functions and financial responsibilities of the Association. The Board is also responsible for maintaining members’ compliance with the established covenants and bylaws of the Association. They have specific provisions regarding what can and cannot be done on your property. Please take the time to read through these governing documents. If you did not receive these documents when you closed on your home, copies are available on the community web site under “Documents.” The Board of Directors meets once a month. Please see the Calendar for meeting times.

Architectural Control Committee: As a homeowner, you may have some ideas on how you’d like to improve your property. The Association has an Architectural Control Committee to help maintain the quality of our neighborhood. Its function is to evaluate the plans for all exterior landscaping, repairs and remodeling (such as painting, decks, sheds, fences, trees and bushes, replacement roofs, etc.) to ensure compliance with all Covenants and Bylaws. The purpose of this review is to protect our scenic environment and maintain the value of our homes.

All modifications to the exterior of your property, including repainting and re-shingling, must be submitted to the Architectural Control Committee for approval before any work begins. If work is started without prior approval, the homeowner risks being cited for a covenant violation and may be required to alter or remove the changes at significant additional cost.

The Architectural Control Committee meets every other Tuesday. Please see the Calendar for the dates. Please note that all applications need to be turned in by 9am of the Monday prior to the ACC meeting that week. Otherwise, the applications will be rolled over to the next meeting.  See the ACC section of the website for the Guidelines and Application.

Covenants Committee: The Covenants Committee discusses and decides upon the next steps for homeowners who have received several violation letters and are still not compliant according to the Covenants and Bylaws, or haven’t communicated with us, about the violations noted.

Recreational Committee: The Recreational Committee is comprised of fellow Glenwood homeowners who work together to plan events for the Glenwood community. They host many events throughout the year, both family-friendly and adult only. These events are great opportunities to meet and socialize with your neighbors. Glenwood is a great neighborhood to live in and we encourage your participation in our events. Please see the Calendar for upcoming events and registration deadlines.
